Author Richard Botkin and retired Marine Colonel Jerry Turley will be guest speakers at a luncheon on 25 September at the National Museum of the Marine Corps. They will talk about Mr. Botkin’s recently published RIDE THE THUNDER, an account of U.S. Marine Corps advisors to the South Vietnamese Marines during the 1971-1972 North Vietnamese offensive.
General Carl E. Mundy USMC (Ret), 30th Commandant of the Marine Corps said of the book, "Richard Botkin places the reader in the middle of the war through the experiences of several U.S. Marine officers who served as advisors to the Vietnamese Marines...the resulting story gives the reader a personal view of the men from both Corps who fought so nobly together..."
The luncheon will be held on 25 September at 1300 on the Overlook of the National Museum of the Marine Corps. Seating is limited. Reservations are required through Ms. Pam Dodson at 703 649-2350 or Dodson@marineheritage.org. Tickets are $15.
