Triangle, VA – The Marine Corps Heritage Foundation will host retired four-star Gen. Anthony Zinni for a dinner and lecture on December 11 at the National Museum of the Marine Corps, as part of the Foundation’s distinguished lecture series sponsored by Lockheed Martin. Former Commander in Chief of U.S. Central Command, Gen. Zinni has been credited with predicting the acts of terrorism against the U.S. stemming from Afghan extremists. He served in the Marine Corps for 35 years, playing pivotal roles in both the Vietnam War and Operation Restore Hope in Somalia. Following his military service, in 2002 Gen. Zinni was selected to be a special envoy for the U.S. to Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Currently, he is Chairman of BAE Systems, Inc., a British defense, security and aerospace company and the world’s second largest defense contractor.
